Notre étude avait comme objectif principal d’évaluer les connaissances, les attitudes et les pratiques des adolescents scolarisés en milieu rural en matière de prévention de la grossesse non désirée et des infections sexuellement transmissibles. L’enquête a été effectué auprès d’un échantillon de 561 adolescents scolarisés en commune rural de Buhiga. L’étude a permis d’obtenir les résultats suivants : 274 garçons et 287 filles ont été enquêtés; les amis (32,0%) constituent la principale source d’information en matière de la santé sexuelle et reproductive suivie des parents (31,2%) et de poste de radio (26,7%); la syphilis (52,1%) et la blennorragie (40,8%) sont les IST les plus connues; les principaux moyens de prévention des IST connus sont l’abstinence sexuelle (57,9%), l’usage du préservatif (32,3%) et l’éviction des objets tranchants (32,0%); 72,2% sont au courant des méthodes contraceptives et les contraceptifs les plus connus sont la pilule (48,7%) et le préservatif masculin (45,5%); 37% des adolescents ont eu des rapports sexuels dont 17,8% ont souffert des IST et dont 24,5% des filles ont eu une grossesse non désirée dont 25% se sont soldées par un IVG.
