From the Author Background and purpose I have established a non-invasive treatment called PNST, Prickling Neuro-Stimulation Technique, based on stimulation of specific nerve-related points on the body. As the method is non-invasive, there is no need to insert into or puncture the skin, such as in traditional acupuncture treatment. As a neurosurgeon by background, my focus on the “lesion itself” is determined by its ""Dermatome and Peripheral Nerve course"" when treating diseases.In time, I came to use the name for the ""lesion I wanted to treat"" itself as ""sympathetic harm” and emphasized the ""spinal segmental diagnosis"" of the site and the ""peripheral innervation"" that covers that lesion. In the beginning, when considering which tool or implement that I could use to provide stimulation, I remembered the ""pointed tweezers” that were employed in neurosurgery. After trialing my chosen tool in hundreds of patient treatments, I realized that they produced a therapeutic benefit, especially related to pain and numbness immediately post-treatment. The main reason that I had envisaged that a prickling pain, “chikuchiku”, could possibly create a therapeutic effect was that the late Professor Emeritus Dr. Toru Abo of Niigata University had stated that ""chikuchiku"" itself stimulates a ""parasympathetic reaction"" and leads to a therapeutic effect. Next, regarding treatment points, I decided to incorporate Dr. Keegan's Dermatome diagram into my treatment rather than follow the acupuncture model. I utilized this well-thought-out neurosurgeon’s map as a guide. Then, after defining my own original treatment plan and clarifying it, I devised a treatment method using Dr. JJ Keegan's ""Dermatome chart"" (1947). As a result, By the end of 2020, I myself had carried out more than 130,000 treatments, and Mr. Toyokazu Shibayama, director of Shibayama Acupuncture and Osteopath Clinic, some 300,000 treatments. And we have been treating without medication, compresses, or surgery for a long time. Currently, I call this new treatment theory the Dermatome Theory and am devoting myself to dissemination activities. After hundreds, now hundreds of thousands, of such treatments performed by us, as well as other associates, PNST revealed itself as a therapy providing No Harm. With an English edition of my technical book and the availability of PNST to doctors and other therapists around the world, I believe that PNST can become a common medical treatment and give their patients the benefits as a very safe, reliable, and inexpensive therapy. After graduating from Wakayama Medical University, he worked in neurosurgery at Wakayama Medical University Hospital, Wakayama Red Cross Medical Center, Kobe City Medical Center General Hospital, etc. In 1988, he opened his own clinic in Wakayama and started PNST in March 2004.
