Heary is the Director of the Montclair Spine Center located in Mountainside Medical Center in Montclair, New Jersey. He is one of the premier physicians providing comprehensive spine care including a full range of conservative and surgical interventions for a wide range of spinal disorders. He is a Professor of Neurosurgery at the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine in Nutley, New Jersey. Dr. Heary is on the editorial boards of Neurosurgery; Brain Disease Mechanisms-Frontiers in Molecular Neuroscience; Clinical Spine Surgery; Spinal Deformity; Neural Regeneration Research; World Neurosurgery; and the Journal of Spinal Cord Medicine. He was previously on the editorial board of the Journal of Neurosurgery: Spine for eight years serving as the chair of the Editorial Board in his final year. He is an active member of many scientific societies. Dr. Heary has served as a director-at-large and the Vice President of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS).
