The book aims at analyzing retail trends in food and grocery at Hyderabad and Secunderabad. It is an attempt to analyse trends in retailing at global, national and twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. The Indian retailing industry, which was traditionally dominated by small, family-run kirana stores, is undergoing a transition and several trends are emerging. The competition has become so intense that survival of a retailer has become very difficult. Big players and MNCs are foraying into Indian retail map, which till recently has been reigned by a tiny and small retailer with an iota of investment. With increase in shopping options, range of products and increase in awareness levels, the consumer buying behaviour has also witnessed a sea change. The book attempts to understand the emerging trends, factors that are influencing these trends, the impact of these trends on existing and prospective retailers, consumer buying behavioural patterns, marketing strategies adopted by the retailers and the deficiencies and benefits emanating from these trends. The book is an attempt to study the above issues in-depth and in-detail.
