Cet ouvrage présente les résultats d’une étude agronomique réalisée sur un site expérimental au Togo. Le travail consiste à combiner l’effet de différentes Légumineuses ligneuses et de doses modérées d’engrais minéraux pour gérer efficacement la fertilité des sols et accroître le rendement du maïs. Il fournit ainsi un argumentaire technique qui justifie le choix d’une espèce de Légumineuse ligneuse (Albizia chevalieri) qui, utilisée en jachère précoce permet de rentabiliser la production céréalière (notamment la production en grain du maïs) sur un sol ferrallique dégradé à horizon superficiel sableux au Togo.
