Dans notre travail de recherche, nous avons essayé de mettre en lumière les traits distinctifs d’un anarchiste italien du vingtième siècle. Pour cela, et suivant le modèle proposé par Carlo Ginzburg dans « Le fromage et les vers », nous avons pris en considération le cas d’un militant considéré hors du commun dans son milieu. À ce propos, il nous a paru particulièrement intéressant d'analyser la formation intellectuelle, la pensée et la lutte politique de Camillo Berneri car il a été, en même temps, un des emblèmes de la Révolution libertaire en Espagne et un penseur assez original au sein de son mouvement, suscitant de nombreux débats parmi ses spécialistes. Ceci n’est pas le premier travail de recherche consacré á l’intellectuel italien, mais son originalité provient de la manière dont est envisagé le sujet ainsi que de l’utilisation de sources inédites qui enrichissent et approfondissent cette extraordinaire figure de la culture italienne du vingtième siècle.
