LAP Lambert Academic Publishing In Vitro Multiplication of Banana (Musa Spp.) cv.Grand Naine

A protocol is developed in the present investigation for In Vitro Multiplication of Banana (Musa Spp.) cv.Grand Naine from the vegetative bud explants of banana sucker. The results have suggested that this protocol may be made commercially viable. There are four main steps in protocol developed viz., establishment, proliferation, rooting and acclimatization. The results obtained would be very useful for mass multiplication of banana plants cultivar Grand Naine using suckers as vegetative bud under local conditions and may provide guidelines for setting up commercial unit for propagation of banana.
