Leaf analysis has been interpreted in several ways and the new concepts are being evolved at various stages of the development. DRIS is one of the important concept of interpretation of leaf analysis results. This book tells us about the importance of "Diagnosis and Recommendation Integrated System" approach. DRIS represent a holistic approach to mineral nutrition of the fruit crops and it has an impact on the integrated set of the norms representing calibration of the plant tissue, soil composition, environmental parameters and farm practices as the function of yield. Once such norms are derived, it is possible to make diagnosis of the crop condition, thereby, isolating the factors, which are responsible for limiting the growth and production. The major advantages offered by DRIS approach are its ability to make a diagnosis at any stage of crop development and to list the nutrient elements in order of their importance, which are responsible for limiting the yield. In addition it will make efficient and economic use of fertilizers resulting in enhanced income of the grower and mitigating the adverse of soil and water pollution.
