Julia Kaup erforscht in diesem Buch die Gründe für die mangelnde Repräsentanz von weiblichen Führungskräften mittels Konzeption eines Ursachen-Modells. Die Untersuchung zeigt, dass die Ursache der Unterrepräsentanz in einem komplexen Wirkungszusammenhang von politischen, sozio-kulturellen sowie ökonomischen und betrieblichen Einflussfaktoren begründet liegt und sich damit deutlich vielschichtiger darstellt, als im bisherigen Forschungsstand angenommen. Die Analyse der Entwicklung weiblicher Partizipation am Erwerbsleben ermöglicht zudem die Berücksichtigung historisch bedingter Einflüsse. Insgesamt können so geeignete – auf die Ursachen abgestimmte – Handlungsempfehlungen für Politik und Praxis abgeleitet werden.
