Evolutionäre Ethik zielt darauf ab, moralisches Verhalten beim Menschen vor dem Hintergrund seiner evolutionären Disposition zu verstehen und zu beurteilen. Schwerpunkte der Analyse von Hans Mohr bilden das Konzept der ‚gemischten Verhaltensstrategien‘, exemplifiziert am Beispiel der sozialen Marktwirtschaft, sowie der kulturhistorisch besonders bedeutsame Übergang von den Moralen zum positiven Recht. Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt betrifft die Frage nach dem evolutionsbiologischen Zusammenhang von Moral, Bewusstsein, Willensfreiheit und Verantwortung.
