Examensarbeit aus dem Jahr 2014 im Fachbereich Englisch - Pädagogik, Didaktik, Sprachwissenschaft, Note: 2,5, Pädagogische Hochschule Freiburg im Breisgau (Institut für Anglistik), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In den letzten Wochen löste der sogenannte Fall Henri reges Medieninteresse aus und brachte das Thema der Inklusion ein weiteres Mal in den Fokus der Öffentlichkeit. Hierbei handelt es sich um den elfjährigen Jungen Henri, der mit dem Down-Syndrom zur Welt kam und den Wunsch hat, nach der vierten Klasse das örtliche Gymnasium besuchen zu dürfen. Dieses möchte den Jungen allerdings nicht aufnehmen, da es nicht im Rahmen von Henris Möglichkeiten läge, den Abschluss zu erreichen und eine angemessene Förderung von der Schule nicht geleistet werden könne. Doch geht es Henri beziehungsweise seinen Eltern nicht um diesen Abschluss, sondern vielmehr darum, dass Henri weiterhin zusammen mit seinen Freunden die Schule besuchen kann. Dieser Fall spiegelt die Aktualität des Themas Inklusion wider. Es gibt kaum Fälle, auf welche hierbei Bezug genommen werden kann, so wird über diesen speziellen Fall letztendlich Andreas Stoch, der Kultusminister des Landes Baden-Württembergs, entscheiden. Zwischenzeitlich haben sich in der Öffentlichkeit zwei unterschiedliche Meinungen zum Thema gebildet. So gibt es die Befürworter der Inklusion, welche die schulische Zukunft Henris am Gymnasium gutheißen und die Gegner, die der Meinung sind, dass Henri an dieser Schule keine Zukunft haben wird und sich selbst sowie der Klassengemeinschaft keinen Gefallen tun würde, wenn er inklusiv in dieser Klasse beschult wird (vgl. Allgöwer 2014). Henri besucht zurzeit noch eine Grundschule, die durch inklusiven Unterricht ermöglicht, dass Kinder mit Beeinträchtigungen gemeinsam mit den Kindern aus der Nachbarschaft ein und dieselbe Schule besuchen können. Grundschulen praktizieren Inklusion schon seit einiger Zeit, weshalb sich die Frage stellt, wie inklusiver Unterricht in der Praxis gestaltet wird.
