Springer Technological Change in a Spatial Context: Theory, Empirical Evidence and Policy

This book provides a wide ranging review of current research and thinking about the spatial context of technological change. It brings together theoretical pieces of work, methodological developments, empirical evidence from differing national contexts, and discussions of policy formulation and implementation at a range of spatial scales. The book is divided into four parts. The first deals with theoretical and conceptual issues concerning technological change in regional and city systems and the role of technology in less developed countries and regions. Part two deals with a selection of methodological issues. Part three presents empirical evidence from a range of national contexts. Part four covers policy issues from the supra-national to the local or metropolitan scale.
