Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2009 im Fachbereich Biographien, , Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Friedrich Ritter von Lössl (geb. am 14. Jänner 1817 in Weiler im Allgäu, Bayern; gest. am 14. Mai 1907 in Wien). Seine Vorfahren stammen aus Rötz in der Oberpfalz, seine Frau Maria Luise, geb. Probst, aus Kaufbeuren. Lössl war ein leidenschaftlicher Eisenbahningenieur und Flugpionier, Vermessungstechniker, Kartograph, Erfinder, Schöpfer schöner Landschafts- und Gebäudeskizzen, Förderer von Kunst und Kultur, Inbegriff des rastlos tätigen, nur seinen Einfällen lebenden Technikers; ein Multitalent. Nach der Absolvierung des "Alten Gymnasiums" in München (heute Wilhelmsgymnasium) studierte Lössl von 1836 bis 1841 am Polytechnikum und an der Universität in München und belegte auch Zeichenkurse an der dortigen Kunstakademie. Anschließend war er bis 1856 als Eisenbahn- und Hochbauingenieur in Bayern tätig und wechselte in diesem Jahr als Ingenieur I. Klasse nach Österreich zur Kaiserin-Elisabeth-Westbahn. Sein erster Wohnsitz in den Jahren von 1856 bis 1858 war Salzburg. Dort wurde auch Siegmund von Lössl geboren (eines seiner 10 Kinder), der später bayerischer Staatsrat in München wurde. Lössl übersiedelte anschließend nach Linz, Oberösterreich, dann für ein Jahr nach Immenstadt, Allgäu, Bayern, und schließlich nach Wien, von wo aus er seinen Altershauptwohnsitz nach Aussee (das erst seit 1911 Bad Aussee heißt) verlegte. 1907 starb er an einer Lungenentzündung in Wien, kurz vor einer geplanten Abreise nach Aussee. Lössl trassierte insgesamt 2500 km Eisenbahnlinien in Bayern und im Kaisertum Österreich (nach 1867 Österreich-Ungarn), darunter die Bahnstrecke München - Salzburg und einen Teil der Salzkammergutbahn Schärding - Ried - Ebensee - Bad Ischl - Stainach/Irdning. Er hatte zahlreiche Ideen, von welchen sechs zu Privilegien (Patenten) führten, z.B. ein Schiff, das unter Ausnutzung der Wasserströmung flussaufwärts fahren konnte, sowie seine bekannteste Erfindung, die so genannte a
