Description

Land degradation is a major problem, which reduced the productivity of the land and aggravated the effects of drought. Many efforts were made to reduce land degradation problems. However, the intended results were not obtained, due to lack of sufficient information on sediment yield, which could help to design and plan irrigation dams and soil and water conservation structures. Hence, this book contributes its part to develop the scientific knowledge on sediment transport processes; it will also provide good information for construction of ponds, reservoirs and other soil and water conservation structures or to develop erosion management plan in the study area as well as other parts.
