Die Studie bezieht Institutionen als pädagogische Organisationsformen und Beratungen als interaktive Prozesse systematisch aufeinander. Mit dem Ziel, die latenten Einflüsse der institutionellen Anbieter und die ihrer Träger auf Beratungen in der Weiterbildung zu rekonstruieren, werden Beratungen einer Volkshochschule und einer kommunalen Weiterbildungsberatungsstelle interaktionsanalytisch und ethnografisch untersucht. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass Weiterbildungsberatungen nicht nur eine inner- und außerinstitutionelle Lotsenfunktion übernehmen und von institutionellen Interessen geleitet werden, sondern auch maßgeblich vom institutionellen (Nicht-)Wissen und den Routinen der Beratenden abhängig sind.
