Dieses Buch wurde auf dem Deutschen Geographentag 2007 in Bayreuth mit dem Dissertationspreis des Hochschulverbandes fur Geographie und ihre Didaktik pramiert. Migration, Rassismus, Integration - innergesellschaftliche und globale Spannungen legen verscharfte Auseinandersetzungen um das Bild und den Umgang mit "dem Fremden" nahe. Das Buch beschaftigt sich mit dieser Entwicklung im Bereich der Erziehung gegen Rassismus. Wird sie ihrem Ziel gerecht? Verschiedene Erklarungsansatze aus Psychologie, Soziologie und Politikwissenschaft werden dargestellt. Weiter wird gepruft, ob und wie in Konzepten globalen Lernens, interkultureller Padagogik und antirassistischer Erziehung darauf Bezug genommen wird. Es zeigt sich eine eingeschrankte, auf ein psycho-soziales Problemverstandnis reduzierte Theorierezeption in der interkulturellen Praxis. Quantitative und qualitative Inhaltsanalysen von geographischen Schulbuchern belegen: Durch die Ausblendung struktureller Aspekte tendiert die interkulturelle Praxis in der Schulgeographie zur Kulturalisierung und "Ver-Fremdung" politisch-oekonomischer Differenzen. Review «Zusammenfassend kann gesagt werden, dass von der Theorie und Methodik der Analyse die Politische Bildung ebenso wie künftige Schulbuchautoren profitieren können. Eine ähnliche Studie wird in der Fachdidaktik der Sozialwissenschaften dringend gebraucht, sonst droht die Entpolitisierung eines höchst politischen Phänomens.» (Annette Kammertöns, Politisches Lernen) About the Author Die Autoren: Leif Moenter und Arian Schiffer-Nasserie, geboren 1977 und 1976, haben Sozialwissenschaften und Geographie an der Universitat Bochum studiert. 2006 erfolgte die Promotion. Gegenwartig befinden sich die Autoren in der zweiten Lehramtsausbildungsphase bzw. an der Schule. Ferner nehmen sie verschiedene Lehrauftrage an der Universitat Bochum und der evangelischen Fachhochschule Bochum wahr.
