Als Kontrapunkt zur makroökonomischen Theorie betrachtet der Mikrostrukturansatz des Wechselkurses seit Beginn der 1990er Jahre das Preissetzungsverhalten einzelner Währungshändler. Seitdem hat sich aber die Struktur des Devisenmarkts spürbar gewandelt - Transaktionen werden kaum noch bilateral abgeschlossen, sondern indirekt über elektronische Brokersysteme. Vor diesem Hintergrund wird hier ein Datensatz aus dem Jahre 2003 zu den Geschäften eines bedeutenden Kassahändlers analysiert. Dabei steht die Wirkung der Order-Flows auf die Kursstellung im Mittelpunkt. Durch Modifikation traditioneller Modelle wird gezeigt, dass Mikrostruktureffekte - vor allem Order-Flow- und Positionseffekte - immer noch existieren. Dies wurde in verwandten Studien zuvor negiert. Ein Brückenschlag zur Behavioral Finance rundet die Arbeit ab.
