Im Zuge der österreichischen Verfassungsberatungen 1920 und 1929 nahm man sich die Weimarer Reichsverfassung als Vorbild. Für bestimmte Institutionen wie Ländervertretung, Grundrechte und Staatsoberhaupt wurde darauf hingewiesen, sie seien nach deutschem Muster auszuformen. Ziel der vorliegenden Arbeit ist es, herauszuarbeiten, wie sehr Bestimmungen der Weimarer Reichsverfassung tatsächlich auf die österreichische Entwicklung eingewirkt haben. Die Arbeit orientiert sich an bestimmten Institutionen wie Parlament, Staatsoberhaupt, Grundrechte. Verglichen werden im wesentlichen die Verfassungstexte, für Österreich auch die entsprechenden Entwürfe hierzu. Soweit es den Quellen zu entnehmen ist, werden schließlich die Gründe für die jeweilige Ausformung in dem in Kraft getretenen Verfassungstext angegeben.
