Daten und Informationen sind zu einem bedeutenden Wirtschaftsgut im Unternehmen ge worden (Spur 1188/; Ortner, Rössner und Söllner 1142/) und bilden einen neuen Produktions faktor (Maßberg und Habich 11 09/). Es werden daher Systeme benötigt, die Daten so verarbei ten, daß sie die Erfiillung konkurrierender Ziele wie Kostenreduktion, Durchlaufzeitminimie rung und Qualitätserhöhung sowie eine integrierte durchgängige Informationsverarbeitung er möglichen (Bullinger, Fähnrich und Thines 123/). Dies gilt in besonderem Maße fur betriebliche Informationssysteme wie PPS-Systeme, die unverzichtbar fur eine rationelle Auftragsabwick lung sind (Roos 1158/). In DIN 1421 wird deshalb als Hauptanforderung an Informationssy steme im Industriebetrieb formuliert: "Die richtige Information am richtigen Ort zur richtigen Zeit in der richtigen Form zur Verfiigung zu stellen, um die richtige Entscheidung treffen zu können. " Die Funktionalität der heute eingesetzten Systeme wird jedoch nicht voll genutzt (VDMA 1206/). Die bereitgestellte Information (Eversheim und Böhmer 150/) stellt fur die Benutzer eine nicht mehr zu bewältigende Datenflut dar (Strickert 1190/; Hackstein und Loeffelholz 167/). Ausschlaggebend fur den erfolgreichen Einsatz von Informationssystemen ist die Be rücksichtigung der technisch-organisatorischen und human-zentrierten Aspekte bei deren Ent wicklung und Einsatz (Hackstein 168/). Voraussetzung tUr ihre Umsetzung ist die software-er gonomische Gestaltung der Systeme, die die Anpassung der Mensch-Rechner-Interaktion an den Menschen und seine Fähigkeiten beinhaltet (Wandmacher 1213/). Da der Großteil der Mit arbeiter heute Informationen statt Materialien verarbeitet, liegt in den Informationssystemen ein erhebliches Rationalisierungspotential (Eversheim, Krumm und Heuser 151/).
