Die Informatik befindet sich im Umbruch: Aufgrund des Wegfalls bisheriger technischer Barrieren erschließen sich Anwendungsgebiete in großem Stil. Sie wird damit noch mehr als bisher zum Hoffnungsträger für Innovationen in den unterschiedlichsten Fachgebieten und Märkten. Dies erfordert neben einer Analyse der neuen technologischen Gege benheiten das Erarbeiten der nunmehr möglichen und notwendigen Per spektiven der Informatik in den verschiedenen Anwendungsbereichen. Informatik-Anwendungen im Verwaltungs-und Produktionsbereich bilden deshalb den Tagungsschwerpunkt der GI-Jahrestagung 1986. Es wird auf gezeigt, welche Perspektiven sich für künftige Informatik-Anwendungen eröffnen durch den Einsatz von • Methoden der künstlichen Intelligenz (z.B. in der Robotik), • Techniken des papierarmen Büros (z.B. in Verwaltungen) oder • Verfahren der Computer-Graphik und Bildverarbeitung (z.B. In der Medizin). Die beiden vorliegenden Tagungsbände enthalten die eingeladenen Vorträge und die Beiträge zu den Fachgesprächen. In den eingeladenen Vorträgen werden aktuelle Entwicklungen der Infor matik dargestellt. Da Informatik-Methoden in immer neue Anwen dungsgebiete eindringen, kann der einzelne Trends und Perspektiven in den verschiedenen Bereichen nicht mehr in voller Breite und Tiefe verfol gen. Trotzdem sind Kenntnisse von Entwicklungen in anderen Bereichen für die eigene Arbeit unerläßlich. Diesen Uberblick vermitteln die eingeladenen Vorträge. Häufig bieten die eingeladenen Vorträge auch Einführungen in Fachgespräche, in denen dann technische Details in größerer Tiefe behandelt werden. VI Die Fülle der Beiträge zu den einzelnen Fachgesprächen, die auch eine Auf teilung in zwei Tagungsbände notwendig machte, zeigt, daß in den Fachgruppen der GI aktive wissenschaftliche Arbeit geleistet wird.
