About the Author Cengiz G€unay is a Senior Researcher at the Austrian Institute for International Affairs (oiip) and lecturer at the University of Vienna. He specializes in the transformation of statehood, the role of non-state actors and Euro-Mediterranean relations. His regional areas of expertise are the Mediterranean and specifically Turkey, Egypt and Tunisia. Cengiz G€unay has published a wide range of articles, two monographs, policy analyses and policy briefs on these questions. He has initiated and co-authored the Add-On―Yearbook of the oiip series. Nina Witjes is a Research Associate at the Research Group “Innovation, Society and Public Policy”, Munich Center for Technology in Society (MCTS), Technical University Munich. Until May 2016, she was a researcher at the Austrian Institute for International Affairs, heading the research group on Science, Technology and Foreign Policy. She holds an MA in Development Studies from Vienna University and is currently pursuing her dissertation on Science, Technology and International Relations. Her main areas of interest are satellite imagery analysis and visual securizitation, geospatial big data and crisis response, geopolitical infrastructures as well as conceptual intersections of Science Technology Studies (STS) and Security Studies.
