Les années 1968 en France sont le théâtre d'une formidable production visuelle, portée par les utopies révolutionnaires. Pendant cette période (1968-1974), militants et artistes d'extrême-gauche oeuvrent pour inventer de nouvelles formes d'expressions visuelles en lien avec les luttes collectives. Images en lutte raconte cette extraordinaire rencontre entre l'art et la politique qui débute et se referme à l'Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Paris, de l'Atelier Populaire en 1968 aux réunions du FHAR et du MLF en 1974. Cet ouvrage s'ouvre par les affiches de l'Atelier Populaire et présente pour la première fois de nombreux projets ainsi qu'un reportage photographique sur l'occupation de l'Ecole. Des dossiers sont consacrés aux luttes, aux soutiens, aux révolutions, à la libération sexuelle... Il rassemble des peintures, des photographies, des sculptures, des installations, des revues, des tracts, des affiches politiques, des extraits de films et des photographies relatifs à ce moment d'agencements singuliers.
