Exposition du 16 mars au 14 juillet 2024 au Palais Galliera Arrivé à Paris en 1973, Paolo Roversi, originaire de Ravenne, réalise ses premières séries en 1977. Dès lors, il se consacre à la photographie de mode, travaillant pour les plus grands créateurs et pour les magazines les plus prestigieux. Acteur majeur de la photographie française de ces quarante dernières années, il se tient tout à la fois au coeur du système et à distance, loin des courants éphémères de la mode. A la recherche de la beauté, il construit avec honnêteté une oeuvre unique et mystérieuse sur laquelle le temps n'a pas prise. Le choix du studio, de la chambre grand format et du Polaroid, définissent pour les années à venir la manière de travailler et le style du photographe. Au coeur de son oeuvre il y a les rencontres et les relations fidèles avec les créateurs de mode et les mannequins. L'univers de Paolo Roversi s'accorde harmonieusement avec celui de Yamamoto, mais aussi de Romeo Gigli, Rei Kawakubo ou Dior. Chaque nouvelle collaboration est un défi pour se renouveler. L'ouvrage qui accompagne l'exposition au Palais Galliera a été imaginé et conçu en lien étroit avec l'artiste.
