L'ostéopathie structurale intra-conjonctive est une méthode originale de manipulation. En définissant la "lésion ostéopathique" au sein du tissu conjonctif, elle propose de modifier les qualités d'élasticité de celui-ci dans toutes ses composantes : tissu articulaire, intra-osseux, musculo-fascial, crânien ou viscéral. En effet, c'est en influençant les capacités de résilience mécanique du tissu vivant que l'ostéopathie dispose d'un outil pertinent. De plus, cette approche propose une autre lecture des pathologies fonctionnelles courantes et permet ainsi d'intervenir sur des zones de conjonctif négligées par les autres types de manipulation. En s'appuyant sur une méthodologie stricte, mais simple à mettre en place, le thérapeute manuel pourra s'accaparer tout ou partie de cette nouvelle forme de manipulation afin de compléter son arsenal thérapeutique. L'ostéopathie structurelle telle qu'elle est proposée ici s'intéresse à modifier les qualités mécaniques du tissu conjonctif et à influencer son organisation architecturale de façon fractale, c'est-à-dire du niveau cellulaire jusqu'à l'échelle humaine.
