Après avoir parcouru l'Europe des années trente, après avoir livré bataille aux conjurés de la Cagoule, après avoir traversé le Front populaire, participé à la guerre d'Espagne, bourlingué en Inde, conquis l'Amérique, dérobé la machine à coder des services secrets allemands et affronté les valets de toutes les antichambres du nazisme montant, Boro entre dans le bain glacé de la Résistance. Il prend les armes le 11 novembre 1940, jour de la manifestation héroïque des étudiants parisiens. Lorsqu'il les rendra, il aura croisé ses ennemis de toujours, aimé pour la vie quelques femmes magnifiques, déjoué le piège tendu par sa cousine Maryika et par Artur Finnvack, numéro deux des services secrets britanniques, dont le nom forme une anagramme bien mystérieuse. Ici, Boro, le splendide émigré de Budapest, devient cible et gibier. Il est le métèque français. Avec pour tout viatique sa canne et son Leica, notre héros défie crânement couvre-feux et contrôles. Une seule raison l'anime : délier le bâillon de cette terrible Occupation où, entre l'apaisante image de timbre-poste du Maréchal, la brutalité arrogante des nazis et la voix brouillée d'un général exilé que l'on déclare félon, les Français se divisent. L'heure est aux atermoiements, à la xénophobie, à la méfiance, au marché noir, à la délation. Trop pour Blèmia Borowicz. Surtout si, au-delà des ignominies qui l'entourent, les nazis menacent une jeune fille aux yeux verts...
