Description
Elisabeth de la Trinité, carmélite, morte jeune, à 26 ans, a consacré à sa vie à Dieu. Inspirée par Thérèse d'Avila elle développe une mystique de l'habitation de la Trinité et de la louange de la Gloire. Elle et a été canonisée par le pape François en 2016. Trois quarts de siècle après sa mort, Elisabeth de la Trinité, cette grande contemplative, plus connue à l'étranger qu'en France, voit enfin publier ses oeuvres complètes de façon intégrale. Cette nouvelle édition, agrémentée de nouveaux commentaires, réunit en un seul volume les trois tomes précédents parus en 1979 et 1980. Un ouvrage qui, grâce à une ample documentation, permet de donner toute la mesure de cette personnalité charismatique, à la fois théologique, spéculative et attentive aux choses les plus humbles. Après une présentation générale, on trouvera les quatre petits Traités spirituels rédigés par Elisabeth à la fin de sa vie, une Esquisse biographique, puis ses lettres, celles de la carmélite. On lira enfin son Journal spirituel, composé à l'âge de dix-huit et dix-neuf ans, ainsi que ses Notes intimes et Poésies échelonnées sur toute sa vie. Un ensemble d'Annexes et d'Index clôt le volume.
