L'ouvrage collaboratif Mécanique des tissus vivants dresse un état des lieux des plus récentes approches développées dans le but d'étudier le comportement biomécanique de ces tissus mous, afin d'en comprendre la structure et le comportement apparent. A travers les différents chapitres, des tissus spécifiques sont analysés dans le but de développer des solutions répondant aux problématiques cliniques rencontrées. Des conclusions sont esquissées à propos des méthodes futures qui permettront d'améliorer l'état de connaissance actuel du comportement de ces tissus vivants, afin notamment de prédire l'effet d'une pathologie ou d'un acte médical sur leurs propriétés apparentes.
