In Primary Book 3, your child will be learn: addition facts 1 through 18 via the Montessori Addition Strip Board and Charts, as well as the exercises with the Bead Houses, subtraction facts 1 through 18 via the Montessori Subtraction Strip Board and the Bead Houses, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of 2-4 digit numbers using the Montessori Stamp Game, with emphasis on exchanging, whole, half, and quarter fractions, how to tell time to the hour, half hour, quarter hour, and minute, how to read a calendar and write the date, PLUS a looping review of previously covered math concepts, such as: writing numbers and number words number rods and operations with number rods even and odd greater than and less than the short bead stair and operations with the short bead stair teen number recognition and formation counting by tens counting 1-100 using the hundred chain and the hundred board squaring chains and skip counting the decimal system using the Golden Bead Material formation of numerals using the Golden Bead Material and decimal cards addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using the Golden Bead Material addition strip board problems addition working chart problems subtraction strip board problems bead houses By working through this Math Workbook, a child will move along toward further abstraction by working with hands-on manipulatives and visuals, as well as inadvertently memorize math facts of addition and subtraction. Handwriting is more critical at this stage, but students are still welcome to use scribes (the teacher/parent) when needed. Celebrate your child's accomplishment in completing this workbook by presenting the special letter found on the very last page.
