A neoplasm is a form of excessive and abnormal growth of tissue, which usually forms a mass called a tumor. Neoplasms can be malignant, benign, in situ and of unknown nature. Malignant neoplasms are cancers. Skin mole is a benign neoplasm while skin cancer is a malignant neoplasm.
