About the Author Robert Bagg is professor emeritus of English at the University of MassachuSetts Amherst and the author of five books of poetry, including Madonna of the Cello, a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award. His work has been supported by Guggenheim, Rockefeller, NEH, and NEA fellowships.
