Aeschylus' Oresteia, Sophocles' Oedipus plays, Euripides' Medea and Bacchae, and Aristophanes' Birds and Lysistrata are discussed in this lively and scholarly volume. The Aristophanes chapters explore comic method and all chapters discuss theme and stagecraft in depth.
