Michael Gray is professor and chair of the Department of Biology, Bob Jones University, Greenville, South Carolina. His teaching philosophy has been honed through a forty-year career in higher education, during which he has been recognized twice in Who's Who in American Education and three times in Who's Who Among America's Teachers. He is the founder and director of a faculty development program called the Summer Institute in Teaching Science that recently completed its twelfth summer.
