Description

This edited volume focuses on the evolving nature of peacebuilding. Chapters address important and timely questions, including how groups select their peacebuilding methods, whether any form of violence is acceptable, and the role of neoliberalism. Further, the contributions here, written from a variety of disciplinary perspectives, evaluate the effectiveness of many historical and current peacebuilding efforts. The book offers cutting edge work in the field of peace and conflict studies, and will be useful to academics, students, and educators. About the Author Laura Finley, PhD, is Professor of Sociology and Criminology at Barry University, USA. She is the author, co-author and editor of 30 books and numerous journal articles and book chapters. She is also a syndicated author with PeaceVoice, and a community activist for peace, justice and human rights. She serves on four boards of directors in South Florida, and is Co-Chair of the Peace and Justice Studies Association. Michael Minch, PhD, is a Professor of Peace Studies and Political Philosophy at Utah Valley University, where he is the founder of the Peace and Justice Studies program, having directed it for 12 years. He is the founder-director of Summit: The Sustainable Mountain Development and Conflict Transformation Global Knowledge and Action Network, and is a Director of the Education for Global Peace Forum. He has written on conflict transformation, reconciliation, and political ecology, among others.
