About the Author Klaus Brandl is an associate professor and the director of the language program in the Department of Germanics at the University of Washington. He received his doctoral degree in applied linguistics from the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Brandl has taught German courses for more than 30 years and trained hundreds of language instructors for college and high school. His academic areas of expertise include language teaching methodology, teacher training, and technology in language learning.
