The proposed book includes concepts, methodologies, and practices for achieving sustainability in business operations. The underlying concept is explained from two perspectives: organizational level and policy level. In the former, all principles, techniques, and decision-making issues relevant to sustainability at unit level, management of product recovery processes, and sustainability at integrated level are addressed. Content on policy level perspective includes policies, norms, guidelines and regulatory measures at global and national levels. The primary goal of this book is the creation of an integrated and value rich platform for initiation and management of sustainable operations. About the Author Dr. Kampan Mukherjee is Professor in the area of Operations Management & Decision Sciences, Dean (Planning and Development), and Chairperson, Center of Excellence of Sustainability in Indian Institute of Management Kashipur. He earned his Ph.D from Moscow Institute of Economics and Statistics in 1988. was invited for advanced research in LAMSADE, University Paris Dauphine as a Senior Visiting Fellow of Government of France in 1998. Dr. Mukherjee's accomplishment in teaching is well reflected by overseas Visiting Professorship in European countries (Germany, Austria, Netherlands, Finland and France in particular), Australia, and Dubai. He was also invited as Visiting Professor for teaching courses in XLRI Jamshedpur and IIM Shillong. His research papers have been published in internationally reputed journals: IJPE, EJOR, Omega, CEJOR, Technology Analysis and Strategic Management etc. With Supply Chain Management and Sustainability as current areas of interest, Dr. Mukherjee pioneered research activities in India on management of Remanufacturing and Reverse Logistics. He was presented with the Life Time Achievement award in Operations Management during the XVI Annual International Conference jointly organized by IIT Delhi and IIM Lucknow of India, and Grand Valley State University of USA in December, 2012 at IIT Delhi.
