Product Description English has a considerable history in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and present-day English has a significant influence on the vocabulary of modern German. About the Author Raymond Hickey is Professor of English Linguistics at the Universität Duisburg–Essen, Germany. His main research interests are varieties of English, language contact, variation and change.
