Following is thorough, up-to-date discussion of various aspects of undernutrition and overnutrition, new-born care, breastfeeding, diarrhea, HIV, vitamin A (metabolism, deficiency, prevention, and control), iodine (deficiency disorders, universal salt iodization), and iron (supplementation, deficiency in various populations), among other topics." She is a postgraduate in Food and Nutrition from University of Delhi, India and, PhD from Queen's University, Belfast, UK. Dr Vir, a recipient of the Common Wealth Van den Bergh Nutrition Award and secretary to the Nutrition Society of India, has worked as a programme officer with UNICEF (India) for about 20 years. Presently, she is also working as a Senior Nutrition Expert with the Government of India and various government-supported technical training and teaching institutes.
