About the Author Margaret Groarke is Associate Professor of Political Science at Manhattan College. She was Director of Peace Studies there for 11 years, and Co-Chair of the Peace and Justice Studies Association for 4 years. She is co-author, with Frances Fox Piven and Lorraine C. Minnite, of Keeping Down the Black Vote (New Press, 2009), and articles on community organizing and American electoral politics. Emily Welty is Director of Peace and Justice Studies, and Assistant Professor of Women's and Gender Studies, at Pace University. Her previous publications include Occupying Political Science: Occupy Wall Street from New York City to the World (Palgrave, 2013) and Unity in Diversity: Interfaith Dialogue in the Middle East (United States Institute of Peace, 2007).
