Routledge Reshaping Social Life

Caught up in current social changes, we do not fully understand the reshaping of social life. In sociological analyses there is a conceptual gap between subjectivities and social structural processes, and we face real difficulties in understanding social change and diversity. Through analysis of key areas of social life, here, Sarah Irwin develops a new and exciting resource for better understanding our changing social world. About the Author Sarah Irwin is Senior Lecturer in Sociology at the University of Leeds. Her research interests include family change, gender, employment, social difference and diversity and inequality and she has published extensively in these areas. Her last book, Rights of Passage: Social change and the transition from youth to adulthood (UCL Press), won the 1995 Philip Abrams Memorial Prize.
