The editors have written and published widely in the area of race, class and social change, and GILL BOTTOMLEY is Senior Lecturer in Anthropology and Comparative Sociology at Macquarie University and is one of the coeditors of the recent book The Family in the Modern World (1983). MARIE DE LEPERVANCHE is Senior Lecturer in Anthropology at the University of Sydney. Her most recent publication is Indians in a White Australia.
