On the back of each card is the letter-group (grapheme pair) corresponding to the sound (phoneme). E.g. letter-group 'oy' is taught through the picture-card 'toy for a boy' Between them, Sets 1, 2 & 3 cover all the 44 sounds including alternative spellings.
