About the Author Dr. Rebecca Katz is an Associate Professor and the Director of the Center for Global Health Science and Security at Georgetown University. She has over two decades of public health research experience that has focused on global health security, public health preparedness and health diplomacy. Since 2007, much of her work has been on the domestic and global implementation of the International Health Regulations. Since 2004, Dr. Katz has been a consultant to the Department of State, working on issues related to the Biological Weapons Convention, pandemic influenza and disease surveillance.
