Description

Tatreez & Tea is a 448-page full color book that documents the oral history and biography of a Palestinian family in the diaspora. Co-authored by Wafa and award-winning artist Feryal Abbasi-Ghnaim, this work preserves traditional embroidery techniques and dressmaking traditions. Through the embroidered dresses created by Feryal's mother, the book shares the stories behind their creation and the historic meanings of patterns passed down from the Abbasi family of Safad. It also explores the new stories captured through Feryal's own process of making in the diaspora. This book serves as a vital record of cultural preservation and family heritage.
