The StarTech PEX8S1050LP is a PCI Express serial adapter card designed for systems requiring multiple RS232 connections. This 8-port serial controller features 16C1050 UART technology, delivering reliable bi-directional communication at speeds up to 921.6Kbps per port with a 256 byte FIFO buffer for stable data handling. The card includes two low-profile brackets for flexible installation in standard PCI Express 1x slots and is fully compliant with PCI Express Base Specifications Revision 1.0a/1.1. Each of the 8 DB9 ports incorporates 15kV ESD protection to safeguard against electrostatic discharge. Power management is configurable, allowing you to select 12V, 5V, or no power on pin 9 with up to 3A total shared capacity.
