Soundway Records Soundway Ghana Special 2 - Electronic Highlife Vinyl 3LP

Experience a unique era of musical innovation with Soundway Records' Ghana Special 2. This 3LP vinyl collection brings together 18 tracks of burger highlife, electronic Afrobeat, and reggae. It captures a specific moment between 1980 and 1993 when the Ghanaian diaspora in Europe and North America began using new music technology and recording techniques. As many Ghanaians emigrated to Europe, particularly Germany, during this period of political change, musicians began recording both at home and abroad. This collection highlights that movement and the resulting creative shifts. The set provides a deep look into how new technology helped shape the sounds of the diaspora. This release is a must-have for collectors of electronic Afro sounds and highlife music, offering a sonic journey through a period of significant cultural change and musical experimentation.
