Description

The Sennheiser MD 46 is a professional dynamic microphone designed specifically for the demands of field reporting and live interviews. Engineered to handle noisy environments, its cardioid pickup pattern focuses on the speaker while effectively rejecting unwanted background noise such as traffic, crowds, and PA bleed. This makes it an ideal choice for reporters working in unpredictable outdoor or public settings. To ensure high-quality audio during movement, the MD 46 features internal shock mounting that minimizes handling noise and rumble. This allows reporters to move freely between subjects without compromising the signal. Additionally, the microphone is built to handle the elements; a double-layer grille basket acts as a built-in defense against wind buffeting and plosives, providing clean ENG audio without the need for an external windshield. The long, balanced body design ensures the microphone remains steady and comfortable in your hand during extended use, making it a reliable tool for any professional field environment.

Key Features

Optimized for Live Reporting: The cardioid dynamic capsule focuses on your subject while rejecting crowd noise, traffic, and PA bleed in loud field environments.

Reduced Handling Noise: Internal shock mounting keeps grip and movement noise out of your signal, allowing roving reporters to move between subjects without rumble.

Wind and Pop Protection: A double-layer grille basket suppresses plosives and wind buffeting, delivering cleaner ENG audio in tough outdoor conditions without extra windshields.

Balanced Ergonomic Design: The long, balanced body keeps the microphone steady in your hand and easy to handle during active reporting sessions.
