Routledge Wittgenstein's Liberatory Philosophy Book

Explore a new perspective on the Philosophical Investigations with Rupert Read's Wittgenstein's Liberatory Philosophy. Published by Routledge, this work provides the first outline of a resolute reading, following the influential New Wittgenstein school of thought. Read argues that the core of Wittgenstein's later philosophy is its liberatory purpose. By connecting these ideas to the work of Gordon Baker, the book introduces the concept of a liberatory reading. This approach suggests that philosophy can serve to free users from compulsive and destructive patterns of thought. By breaking these mental cycles, the text explores how philosophy opens doors to new possibilities that were previously unavailable to the thinker.
