Routledge Feminine Fictions: Revisiting the Postmodern - Literary Theory

Explore the critical intersection of feminism and postmodernism in this essential literary theory text by Patricia Waugh. Published by Routledge, this scholarly work examines why women writers have been historically excluded from postmodern art discourse despite the parallel development of both movements since the 1960s. Through psychoanalytic insights and analysis of modern fiction in Britain and America, Waugh reveals the profound connections between feminist and postmodernist writing and theory. This comprehensive study addresses the overlooked relationship between these two transformative literary movements, providing readers with a deeper understanding of how gender politics shaped postmodern literary criticism and creative practice. Essential reading for students of literary theory, women's studies, and contemporary fiction.
