Routledge Revivals Vol. III - Egypt Under Amenemhats & Hyksos

Sir E. A. Wallis Budge's definitive scholarly examination of Egypt's history from the Neolithic period through Cleopatra VII's death in 30 B.C. comprises this comprehensive three-volume work, with Volume III focusing on the reigns of the Amenemhats and the Hyksos era. Budge, Keeper of the British Museum's department of oriental antiquities from 1894 to 1924, conducted extensive missions to Egypt acquiring thousands of papyri, statues and artefacts now housed in the museum's collections. His more than 100 monographs remain essential references in Egyptology, addressing Egyptian religion, dynastic succession and cultural development with scholarly precision. This Routledge Revivals edition restores Budge's foundational research to modern readers, preserving insights that have shaped academic study of ancient Egypt for over a century and remain invaluable for historians, Egyptologists and students of ancient civilisations.
