Routledge Critical Reflections on Evidence-Based Policing

Explore the evolution of Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) within the criminal justice system. While EBP has established a strong presence in fields like medicine, education, and social welfare, its application in criminal justice is undergoing significant change. This Routledge Frontiers of Criminal Justice publication examines how EBP is moving beyond narrow doctrines toward more complex frameworks. As engagement with these practices spreads, the book addresses the tension between criminological research and the methodologies associated with first-generation EBP. It provides a necessary examination of the challenges faced by the research community and practitioners as they navigate these shifting conventions and assumptions in modern policing.
